Branding Others "Socialists / Leftists / Communists / Woke"

Why and How This Rhetorical Branding Works.

When MAGA and its imitators Others its chosen enemies as "Socialists" it's banishing a wholly invented / fluid group of humans to an Outer Realm (see Disinfolklore’s Shapeshifting Between Inner / Outer Realm episode).

Such rhetorical branding and signalling is also drawing in MAGA supporters to an imagined Inner Realm.

The "Right / Reich / Writ" vs Left / Sinister divide has extremely deep roots inside Indo-European civilisation.

“The Indo-European had tribal kings, who were thought of as stretching (*reg-) a rod to govern the people, and who were responsible for the fertility of the soil and the prosperity of the whole tribe. The inauguration of the king was a fertility rite, perhaps with the notion of a goddess of fertility whom the king must wed.”

The association between “left” and negative conotations goes back to the first Indo-European language speakers in eastern Ukraine (see Disinfolklore (1) and Indo-European Immanence in Early Christianity).

We know this because the association between cognates of Writ and "goodness" is part of most Indo-European cultures. So it was present before the division into Anatolian, Indo-Iranian, Celtic, Italic, Germanic, etc families.

MAGA supporters, like extreme Brexiteers, according to the science, are high on the Writ Wing Authoritarian psych scale.

This means, among other things (see http://theauthoritarians.org for the peer-reviewed research), they're highly conventional.

They simply want to fit in. They'll adopt ANY stance promoted by their chosen leader. It's their way of finding community. And this propensity is abused by ruthless leaders (who are High on the Social Dominator psych scale) to gain control over resources, and to cancel democracy. It's the same trick used by Ruschists, and their empty category of "Nazi" (for a discussion of this phenomenon in the context of Russian Disinfolklore, please see Axis of Misogyny - Disinfolklore (13))

Anyone who resists the Authoritarian Leader is branded as Other using these tried and tested terms. A variety of nomenclatures - Leftist, Woke, Communist, Nazi, Remainer, Trans, Feminista, Anti-Fa, Remoaner,…- immediately bind the Writ Wing Authoritarian Follower to their leader. It almost doesn’t matter which particular branding is used, it’s the fact of branding which creates the Inner / Outer group. That said, the “leftist” related nomenclature is particularly embedded in the structure of Indo-European language and associated mental routines.

Of recent note is how the extreme right are trying to use the “socialist” moniker in the Nazi party’s official name as evidence the Nazis were socialists and therefore bad and therefore if, without any correspondence to reality, Russia brands Ukrainians as Nazis, Ukrainians are therefore bad. As if declaring something as true, makes it so! This is of course ridiculous because Nazis used the word “socialist” in their political party name in order to fool the proletariat into thinking they were on the workers’ side. It’s also cynical because Nazis were bad, not because they were leftist, but because its declared third reich was responsible for the holocaust, co-starting (with the Soviet Union) the Second World War by invading Poland, and murdering tens-of-millions of humans.

Once you identify this malevolent Othering trick is in play, you can identify Writ Wing Authoritarian Followers and Writ Wing Authoritarian leaders (technically, they're High on the Social Dominance psych scale).

Those promoting Misogyny and Toxic Masculinity are also High on the Writ Wing Authoritarian psych scale. Misogyny is also a good proxy to know what kind of personality inventory the person you're dealing with embodies - see Disinfolklore (14) - Axis of Misogyny.

Then treat these people accordingly. They should be kept from any positions in which meaningful power (especially in public life) is exercised. 30% of any sample of population are high on the Writ Wing Authoritarian psych scale. This has repeatedly been shown in a variety of cultures using peer-reviewed science.

People who espouse "leftist" views can be Writ Wing Authoritarians: Soviet Union, CCP, and leftists who support Ruschism are generally Writ Wing Authoritarian followers too.

Once we understand this, we can recognise when for example Trump or Putin are speaking normal words, the mechanism through which in fact they're mobilising the enemies of freedom.
