The sound that underpins Right; who the Hittites really were; THE definitive guide to countering Combat Propaganda.

⚡️That struggle to define what's "Right" (rta in Sanskrit (i.e. truth/what is), art, tru (th), reich, -rch (in monarch), reign (in sovereignty, foreigner)) in Indo-European culture is THE struggle.

Was supposed to have ended after WWII.

Guarantees of equality between the sexes, non-discrimination on basis of protected characteristics, freedom from genocide, territorial integrity for states are all now guaranteed by law (DRoit).

Yet the so-called "right" play with fire when they use Cultural War tropes to, fraudulently, win power. Netanyahu, Putin, Trump, Boris Johnson, ... liars and transgressors of what's "Right" all impugned, prosecuted for telling lies. For trying to reverse the WWII peace settlement that defines what's right in our civilisation.

One of the earliest texts in Irish Fir Flathainn/Audach Morainn/Truth of the Prince (7th century) warns that when a Prince tells untruths, great plagues, pestilence, invasions, coalesce to ruin that prince's land, and to turn it into a Waste Land.

This is where the Waste Land trope began and through the medium of Irish mythological texts passed (via Welsh mythological texts) into continental Graal literature and hence into Eliot.

In the earliest Indo-Iranian texts we have (Rg Veda (1,100 BCE), Mahabharata and Avesta) the brilliant Georges Dumèzil demonstrated that the truth of the prince was also there the highest virtue in governance.

Reading each of Trump's (so far) four indictments and the house of commons report on Johnson's lies during the pandemic that led to his resignation it's hard not to see how this perennial truth (don't fock with what's "Right") in Indo-European culture helps explain why we are where we are. 

The self-declared "Right" cannot promote Cultural War tropes that try to restore the social and legal conditions of 1930s Europe, without provoking the same breaches of human rights that characterised Nazi'ism.

Watching the "Right" try to square the circle of supporting Israel while supporting Iranian Ruschist drones daily murder of Ukrainians is painful to watch.

If you traffic in Cultural War tropes, you're not defending what's "Right."

⚡️I suspect that the "Hittites" mentioned in the Bible were the Indo-Europeans (avant la lettre) who ruled certain cities in Judea/Canaan at the time of the Amarna Letters (1,400 BCE).

These Indo-Europeans (an Indo-European chap called Indurata ruled Megiddo (of Armageddon fame!) around 1,400 BCE for example. I write about the oft-ignored Indo-European continuities in early Christianity here: decodingtrolls.substack.com/p/indo-europea…

These continuities (Roman occupation at the time of Christ; Indo-European idea of kingship well established in Judea 1,500 BCE, 500 years before King David; lingua franca of the Roman empire being Indo-European Italic and Greek languages; Indo-Iranian influence during Achelmenaid Empire that ruled Judea 600-300 BCE; etc.) help explain the appeal of Christianity across the Indo-European world over the following millennia.
