⚡️Greek for Shadenfreude?
On July 6th investors forced England’s government to pay 5.668% to investors who lent the government £4b. This is the highest price for English debt since the last time the English conservatives ruined the English economy twenty-five years ago.
Money borrowed from the Greek State is 2% cheaper than money borrowed from England's Brexit and Disinfolklore addled government.
Tempted to write to Brexiteer (and especially to all the Lexiteers) whom I told that this would happen.
Brexiteer Disinfolklore portrayed EU bailout of Greece as a reason why UK should Brexit.
This was of course preposterous, as it ignored how vulnerable UK was to the physics of the bond market:
Political risk (due to corrupt governance and a population which wasn't told Brexit will make them poorer); ➕
Economic catastrophe (due to leaving market / introducing impossible amounts of friction for 50%+ of your trade) =
IMF bailout.
This was/is not my opinion.
It's the laws of physics.
Yet, Brexiteers didn't and still aren't listening.
They're trying to focus everyone's minds on Disinfolklore about mythical Small Boat People who they say will destroy England's prosperity, security, and sustainability.
Yet, England's government is itself destroying prosperity, security, and sustainability.
And no amount of Disinfolklore can hold back the tide: the IMF.
One good aspect of the IMF bailout will be conditioning support for England's currency on governance reforms. Electoral Reform needs to be imposed on England's first past the post electoral system. FPTP enables perpetual minority rule, and decisions that are taken that enrich those in the ruling party, but which impoverish the country.
No wonder Orkney wants to rejoin Norway.
⚡️Great to see English Tory Tobias_Ellwood say England must rejoin the single market. We now need more leaders to give permission to Brexiteers to surface their secret doubts.
Only when the lies that powered Brexit (and indeed the past fifty years of rinsing the "muni" out of our community) are acknowledged and fixed will England's prosperity return.
But I'll settle for a speedy return to the single market for now. In a year or two it will be impossible to find anyone who admits to ever having thought leaving the Single Market was a good idea.

⚡️Earnest Consumers of Russia's Mythological History Blame All Muscovy's Savagery on "Asians."
Generally, Mongols (Buddhist for 700 years) get fingered in Muscovy's Fakse History of itself for all of Muscovy's savagery. Napoleon's defeat is even credited to Mongol army officers in Moscow who decided to burn the city. This is how, according to this bogus history, Muscovy's European leaders learned to become savages.
This is not only wrong in fact, it's racist.
Earnest consumers of these myths, then, in their ache to understand the Deep People (as Russian propaganda describes the Muscovite horde), repeat this racist troll as an article of faith.
Europe's conquest of the Americas, Vikings and Austria / Germany's savage murder of millions of Ukrainians 1941-1945 demonstrate how savagery is indigenous to Europe.
Muscovy is and always has been ruled by Nordic and Slavic Russian males. Muscovy's savagery across Asia is a European matter. It is nothing to do with Mongols or any other racist projection by Europeans unto Asia.
